Peter's Pocket Guide - Golden India
Golden India is based on my trips to the Punjab and the so-called Golden Triangle of Delhi, Agra and Jaipur.
I started my trip in Amritsar by visiting the amazing Golden Temple. Moving up into the mountains I visited Dharamsala, the home of the Dalai Lama, and Shimla, the summer HQ for the British Raj.
The Golden Triangle follows the historical trail of the Mughal Dynasty with visits to many well known monuments. The hightlight has to be the Taj Mahal in Agra.
A truly stunning building, best seen at sunrise or sunset. When entering the complex with the Taj in front of you, don't rush to get your camera out. Just stand and stare at the wonderful sight - it's not going anywhere!
